Integrated Mindfulness for Provoked Vestibulodynia (IMPROVED)

Women diagnosed with Provoked Vestibulodynia (pain in the vaginal vestibule) take part in 4 group sessions where facilitators (psychologist and a gynaecologist) administer a psychoeducational intervention specific to the needs of vestibulodynia. The purpose of this study is to test the potential success of this psychoeducational intervention by having participants complete a battery of questionnaires pre and post treatment.

Entry criteria:

  • Must be female, between the ages of 19-65
  • Able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Diagnosed with Provoked Vestibulodynia

Vulvo-vaginal aesthetic surgery efficacy (VASE)

Women who are having cosmetic labiaplasty surgery (surgically altering the appearance of their labia) in various clinics in the US and Vancouver are asked to complete questionnaires at their first consultation with their cosmetic surgeon. The purpose of this study is to explore the effects of cosmetic labiaplasty on sexual heath and body image before and after surgery, compared to a control group.

Entry criteria:

  • Must be female, between the ages of 19-65
  • Able to read, write and speak English fluently
  • Current patient of one of the study's co-investigators
  • Seeking Vulvovaginal Aesthetic (VVA) surgery or non- VVA surgery
