  • CHIPS: Control of Hypertenstion in Pregnancy Study
    Eligibility:
    Pre-existing/hypertension during pregnancy
    Office diastolic blood pressure of 90 to 105mmHg (OR dBP 85 to 105mmHg if on anti-hypertensive medication)
    Live fetus
    14+0 to 33+6 weeks pregnant

  • PPROM: A novel strategy to reduce morbidity associated with pre-term birth: metagenomic profiles of vaginal microbiota as predictors of neonatal outcomes following preterms premature rupture of membranes
    Eligibility:
    Women at BC Women’s Hospital with ruptured membranes between 24 weeks (24+0) and 33 weeks and 6 days (33+6) pregnant
    Understand English language to sign written informed consent.
    No known fetal complications other than from the PPROM.
    No maternal or neonatal signs for preterm birth other than from the PPROM

  • PROGRESS: Progesterone after previous preterm birth for the prevention of neonatal respiatory distress syndrome
    Eligibility:

    Between 18 weeks and 23 weeks 6 days pregnant

    History of prior preterm birth at less than 37 weeks gestation and greater than 20 weeks gestation (either vaginal birth or caesarean birth) in the immediately preceding pregnancy, where the onset of labour occurred spontaneously, or in association with cervical incompetence, or following preterm prelabour ruptured membranes.

    Women who receive progesterone therapy early for early pregnancy support (prior to 16 weeks gestation) in the current pregnancy will be eligible for trial inclusion.


  • RHD Study
    Eligibility:
    18 years or older
    RHD negative
    Pregnant at no more than 14 weeks
    Willing to have three blood-draws during pregnancy

    Women at 32-38 weeks GA where the estimated weight of each foetus is 1500-4000g with both twins alive. Twin A must in head down position

  • Trisomy Mosaicism & the Placenta
    Eligibility:

    Pregnant women with an abnormal maternal serum screen (AFP/HCG >2.5 MoM) during 2nd trimester of pregnancy

    Pregnant women with a fetus with intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR)

    Pregnant women with preeclampsia

    Pregnant women with normal maternal serum screens and healthy pregnancies.

    Eligibility:
    be HIV positive
    be 9 years or older
    be able to give fully informed consent or assent
    not be pregnant and be willing to avoid pregnancy for the duration of the vaccine phase, be abstinent or be using an effective method of birth control for 30 days prior to vaccination and throughout the study up to one month following the last vaccination
    be able to attend the clinic for all of the study visits
