Magnesium Sulphate for Fetal Neuroprotection of the Preterm Infant

The MAG-CP research team (led by Dr. Laura Magee) has developed an e-learning program on Magnesium sulphate for fetal neuroprotection of the preterm infant, which is designed to help translate into clinical practice MgSO4 for fetal neuroprotection based on the 2011 guidelines published by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC).

Completion of the program, which combines premier medical education with the convenience of a self-paced asynchronous online study, is eligible for Maintenance of Certification credits with the Royal Colleges of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Family Practice, as applicable.

8th Summer Institute in Maternal-Fetal and Pediatric Pharmacology

July 8-13, 2012

Location: Hamilton, Ontario

The Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH) of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is pleased to announce its 8th annual Summer Institute in Maternal-Fetal and Pediatric  Pharmacology. This year, the 8th Summer Institute will be held at the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel, Hamilton, ON during the week of July 8-13, 2012.

This course aims at clinical and non-clinical scientists who are considering academic careers in studying therapeutics during pregnancy, the perinatal period, and lactation. The overall objective of the Summer Institute is to foster the development of a critical mass of researchers and clinicians in this neglected area.
