Northern Health is responsible for the delivery of health care across Northern British Columbia, including acute care, mental health, public health, addictions, and home and community care. The Authority was introduced on December 12, 2001, as part of the provincial government's health care restructuring. It combines 16 former health organizations into one unified body.

Royal Columbian Hospital (RCH) has provided medical services for citizens of New Westminster for 135 years. With 390 beds, Royal Columbian Hospital provides obstetrics, paediatrics, psychiatry and emergency services. Emergency visits totaled over 65,000 last year. RCH is the sole provider in the Fraser Valley for angioplasty, tertiary level cardiac care, cardiac surgery, intensive care at the tertiary level, renal dialysis, a tertiary level special care nursery and trauma services.
Providence Health Care is an acute academic and research hospital located in downtown Vancouver providing quaternary, tertiary and secondary care services.
Fraser Health is one of six health authorities established by the government of British Columbia in December 2001. We serve 1.47 million people living in 20 municipalities plus two electoral areas (in the Fraser Valley Regional District) from Burnaby to White Rock to Hope, or one-third of the BC population.
